  4. Hello! I am Lalatendu Satpathy a graduate student from Mississippi State University. I have focused my research on Human Computer Interaction and am going to join Carnegie Mellon for further study in the same field. I came across this blog and saw that the HCI field is also growing in India. I wonder what the types of jobs people getting there are and how is the salary structure. I am basically from India and in future I am planning to go back to India and do more research on the same field.

  6. Hi Lalatendu,

Great to hear that you are goin to join CMU.edu. I hear that its one of the best schools to study HCI.

Lotsa action is happenning here on User Research, Requirements Specification, Design, Usability Testing and the salaries are at par with development teams.

Opportunities do to User Research are available here, ( but not in plenly), but largely depends on the organization you plan to work with. Suggest that you talk to Rashmi Sinha, www.rashmisinha.com for additional inputs.
